If you’re looking for the perfect way to celebrate Halloween with a creative, family-friendly twist, we’ve got something special brewing for you! Partnering with Mickelson Pumpkin Patch, we’re transforming our sanctuary into a festive fall wonderland where you can paint your very own locally grown pumpkin, watch our horses bob for apples, and show off your best costume. It’s not just about the fun, though—every ticket helps support the horses at Queens Lane, so you’re making a difference while having a blast.

Behind the Scenes: Rose and Cody's Vet Visit

On Wednesday, October 16th, both Rose and Cody had their routine vet check-up and something special called a tooth float. If you’re wondering what that is, let us explain!

A "float" is when a horse's teeth are filed down by the vet to remove any sharp points or uneven surfaces that can make chewing uncomfortable. Unlike humans, horse teeth grow continuously throughout their life, and sometimes they can wear unevenly. This is where the float comes in—it's a process to ensure the horse's teeth are smooth and aligned, helping them eat better and stay healthy.

Rose and Cody both did great during their appointments, and now they’re back to enjoying their hay with happy, healthy mouths!

Volunteer Appreciation: Edward and Theresa Mooney

This week, we want to shine a spotlight on two incredible people who have gone above and beyond for Queens Lane Sanctuary—Edward and Theresa Mooney. 💛

Edward and Theresa have been a constant source of support, and we are so grateful for everything they do.

Every week, they make runs to Wilco for supplies, clean up our barn, and shower our horses with love. But their contributions don't stop there—they donated all our white feeders and a metal standing feeder to help us get our horses’ feed off the dusty ground. After Mystic's scary bout with colic (caused by ingesting sand), Edward and Theresa were right there, helping us find better feeding solutions that have made a huge difference in our horses' health.

Edward and Theresa, words can hardly capture the depth of our gratitude for everything you’ve done. Your dedication, generosity, and unwavering kindness have kept our herd thriving and happy, and we are beyond blessed to call you part of the Queens Lane family. You’ve poured your heart into this place, and we couldn’t be luckier to have you by our side. From the bottom of our hearts, we love you, and we’re forever thankful for your hard work and your warmth.

Join The Herd:  How You Can Make a Difference

Every day at the sanctuary, we witness the incredible transformation that occurs when a horse is given a second chance. Horses that were once fearful, neglected, or abandoned find their way into our care, and with time, they begin to heal. Their eyes soften, their bodies relax, and their trust slowly rebuilds. Each horse carries a story—one of resilience, hope, and the power of kindness.

But this healing doesn’t happen alone. Behind every moment of progress, there are people like you—compassionate souls who believe in making a difference. Whether you have time to spare, a heart to give, or simply want to support from afar, there’s a place for you in this story of transformation. Here’s how you can be a part of it:

Sponsor a Horse

Imagine witnessing the transformation of a horse once bound by fear, now galloping with grace and newfound freedom—a powerful testament to resilience and trust. By sponsoring a horse, you become the catalyst for that change. Your sponsorship covers everything from feed to veterinary care, while also giving you a front-row seat to their healing journey. You’ll receive personal updates, photos, and heartwarming stories that show just how much your

support matters. Plus, as a sponsor, you’ll gain access to monthly equine-assisted learning

activities and art sessions, deepening your connection with the horses and our mission. It's more than a donation—it’s a bond that changes lives, both theirs and yours.

Every dollar helps provide feed, medical care, and a nurturing environment where they can heal and thrive. With your support, we can continue to change their lives for the better. Here’s how you can help:
